| This is a horribly sturdy shovel and pick set-up. I've used the pick to dig out the center of ruts and even lent it to a 4x4 truck to dig himself out when he was high centered. I put 3 coats of spar varnish on the handle and it weighs 3 lb 3 oz with the cover and only measures 19 inches overall when it's folded up. It puts all the regular military shovels I've ever owned to shame. I carry it in a backpack on my rear bumper. I’ve used the pick part more than I’ve used the shovel function.

ps: I'm going to buy one of these for my son's atv so he can dig out the center of ruts so I can follow him on his 30 inch tires. |
