These are surprisingly beefy and mine (I bought 2) came with heavy rubber stoppers under the screw caps. There's no material marking but it seems like HDPE. They're marked 11-82 on the bottom, which could be a production date.

Definitely up for rough handling, but I wouldn't want to drop a full one onto it's neck. (Posted on 3/19/11)
